Public Relations Manager

Description:

SUMMARY: Work to position Treasure Island Resort & Casino (TIRC) and the Prairie Island Indian Community (PIIC) as good corporate citizens by leading brand awareness and engagement through public relations, media outreach, partnerships and community and business relations. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce effective public relations strategies, campaigns and supporting content that promotes the TIRC brand
Collaborate with internal and external business partners to maximize value from sports team sponsorships and media partnerships
Serve on the TIRC Emergency Management Team and manage the crisis communication plan
Manage, facilitate and advise on all media inquiries
Work with PIIC Tribal Council, PIIC Communications Manager and third party firms in advancing legislative issues and communication efforts
Work with internal business partners to analyze and respond to guest feedback and comments
Participate in on-site and off-site events
Develop annual public relations plan and budget
Manage strategic philanthropy and donation process
Provide tracking and measurement of communication initiative to Director

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
4-year degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field and 10 years corporate communications experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education
Proven verbal and written presentation skills
Proven experience in crisis communications

Preferred:
Proven experience with charitable giving administration
Sports marketing experience

Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

Treasure Island guest service training
Effectively Handling Harassment training
Any position-related training as determined by Department Director

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pound occasionally

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office, restaurant, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke and outdoors for guest events
Outdoor concert venues, sports facilities and remote work locations
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
Extensive computer use
Must deal with angry or hostile individuals
High volume direct public contact
